EDMONTON, AB: It may have taken a little longer than expected, but the Commonwealth Championship is on it’s way back to Edmonton.
Shawn Spears, the current Commonwealth Champion, will return the City of Champions to defend his title at the PWA 19th-Anniversary Show. The event is currently scheduled to take place on March 28th at the NAIT Gymnasium.
Spears’ opponent for the event has yet to be confirmed.
The 28th will mark the third time Spears has appeared in the Prairie Wrestling Alliance. Last year, the All Elite Wrestling star made his PWA debut at the promotion’s 18th-Anniversary Show, defeating Shaun Moore and capturing the Commonwealth Championship. The former Tye Dillinger then returned on September 28th, 2019, where he retained his title against Moore at PWA Fall Fever. Last November, Spears was scheduled to face Michael Richard Blais at PWA Remembrance; however, circumstances beyond the promotion’s control prevented the commonwealth champ from making his scheduled appearance.
Tickets for the PWA 19th-Anniversary Show are available through the promotion’s social media channels, or contacting head promoter Kurt Sorochan directly.
