In a heartbreaking piece of news, PWInsider is reporting that WWE Superstar Paige has been told she will not be cleared to wrestle again for the company.
Paige - real name Saraya-Jade Bevis - was injured during a six woman tag match at the Nassau Coliseum on December 28th in a match pitting her faction, Absolution, against Sasha Banks, Bayley and Mickie James. After receiving a kick to the back from Banks, the 25-year-old superstar went down in a heap and medical attention was required. While Paige was able to make it out of the arena under her own strength, she had not been cleared to compete in-ring since the injury had occurred. At the time, the belief was that she had suffered a “stinger”, but that no serious injury had occurred.
In recent weeks, the Anti-Diva had been announced as a competitor during the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match. She also had been a key player in the RAW Women’s division after returning from a year-long absence from the WWE, heading up the stable Absolution featuring the debuiting Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.
We’ll continue to keep you updated with the situation as it develops, but we wish all the best to Paige at this time.
