— Kyle (@FLWrestlingFan) October 17, 2020
- Xavier Woods comes out to start the show. Announces Team NXT vs WWE in League of Legends for Up Up Down Down.
- William Regal is giving instructions to security for Aleister Black to see him once he arrives.
- The Undisputed Era comes out and cut a promo. They put the roster on notice, using the War Raiders as an example. EC3 interrupts this, calls out Adam Cole, and we have our first match!
- EC3 over Adam Cole, clean. Post-match, Undisputed ERA beat EC3 down. They did take him out after the match with a chair. At least EC3 finally has a signature win in NXT?!
- Mia Yim over Aliyah.
- Kassius Ohno over Justin Xavier. Xavier was given a surprising amount of offence. Post-match, Nikki Cross comes out and laughs at Ohno before leaving.
- William Regal comes out for an NXT Championship announcement for War Games. He’s interrupted by multiple people. First, Tommaso Ciampa, then Velveteen Dream, then Lars Sullivan, then Nikki Cross. Cross says “he’s coming” and Aleister Blacks entrance hits. He hits a Black Mass on Lars. Johnny Gargano comes out, hoodie and all, and superkicks Black! He leaves with the hood drawn up. Is Johnny the one who attacked Aleister?!?
October 31 Episode
- Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) over The Mighty (Nick Miller & Shane Thorne) in a fresh, new, exciting matchup.
- Nikki Cross over Mercedes Martinez. Post-match, Candice LeRae comes out and confronts Cross. Aleister Black comes out to stop Nikki from leaving, but Candice - in all black as well - gets in his face. He says something to her and leaves.
- Matt Riddle over Luke Menzies in Riddle’s NXT TV Debut.
- Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan over Raul Mendoza & Roberto Carrillo. Mostly a squash match.
- The Undisputed ERA, War Raiders, and Ricochet brawl from the parking lot to inside the arena. Pete Dunne evens the odds! William Regal comes out and announces that the WarGames match this year is Pete Dunne, Ricochet, & War Raiders vs. the Undisputed ERA! *Note: Apparently Dunne was really selling his injury, leading to speculation he may not be able to participate.*
November 7th episode
- Heavy Machinery (Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight) over Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake). Well.
- Dakota Kai over Taynara Conti.
- Bianca Belair over Mia Yim to remain UN-DEA-FEAT-ED.
- Lacey Evans over Karissa Rivera. Total Squash.
- Kyle O’Reilly over Hanson.
- Lars Sullivan over Velveteen Dream due to interference from Tommaso Ciampa. After the match, Ciampa goes for the beatdown, but the Dream gets the advantage! Dream holds up the NXT Championship to end this taping.
Taping Thoughts
Little disappointed about the lack of Keith Lee on these tapings, to be totally honest. The Limitless one could be huge in the company, but there is a lot of talent around now. I’ll be patient with NXT, they’ve more than earned my trust.
With rumours surrounding Pete Dunne, we could see EC3 replace him in the War Games match - or we could see the injury suffered by Dunne as a major focal point. Either way, the talent in this match will ensure this will be absolutely fantastic. A traditional 4 vs 4 War Games will likely help improve the quality as well.
NXT kept it very close to the chest with the NXT Women’s championship. Would assume the loser from Sane vs Baszler gets called up - most likely Baszler. The winner (assuming Sane) will likely face the winner of the MYC. My money is on Io Shirai, but I wouldn’t be surprised about a potential match with Toni Storm either.
Seeing Gargano as a heel will be awesome. BUT, while he has been a great heel in the past, he was potentially the hottest babyface in the company since Sami. It’s a risky choice by Triple H to have him be a heel, but again - I have faith.
