CALGARY, AB - The Alberta wrestling scene was turned on its head tonight, as Kenneth Anthony has won the Prairie Wrestling Alliance Championship.
Earlier in the evening, PWA COO Kurt Sorochan declared the PWA Championship vacant as the now-former champion “The Original” Marky failed to arrive at the Cedarbrae Community Centre to defend the title.
A four-man tournament was established with the new Champion being crowned in the main event. In the first semifinal, one half of the PWA Tag Team Champions, Above Average Joe Aiden Adams defeated the former Commonwealth Champion Shaun Moore. In the other semifinal, the Millenial Rebels collided, with Kenneth Anthony defeating Colton Kelly to move on. In an incredible main event, Anthony defeated Adams to become the new PWA Champion.
This is the first Canadian Title reign for Kenneth Anthony. However, this win makes him a Grand Slam Champion in PWA. Anthony previously captured the Mayhem (October 2018 - February 2019), Commonwealth (June 2017 - January 2018), and Tag Team (April 2017 - March 2018) Championships.
