Stingers Look for Revenge Against Honey Badgers

Coming off a 1-1 week in CEBL action, the Edmonton Stingers (4-3) host the Hamilton Honey Badgers (4-3) this Friday in a rematch from the first week of the CEBL season. That week, the Badgers took out the Stingers 106-83 in Edmonton’s first CEBL loss. However, since then, the Stingers have been actively recruiting, bringing in a number of marquee names like Travis Daniels that have sparked a 3-1 run over their past four games. With the new additions to the Stingers lineup, can Edmonton return Hamilton’s early-season favour? Tip-off from the Edmonton Expo Centre is 7 pm. Check out the Stingers official website for more details.

No Rest for the ‘Spects

There’s no rest for the Edmonton Prospects (8-4) this week, as the team continues their gruelling early season schedule this week. First up, the ‘Spects head to Regina for a three-game set against the Red Sox Tuesday-Thursday. Following the action in Saskatchewan, the Prospects return home this weekend for a back-to-back set against the Fort McMurray Giants. Celebrate Pride Night on Saturday, with a 7:05 pm first pitch.  On Sunday, bring Dad to the ballpark and celebrate Father’s Day by playing catch after the game with an accompanying Father’s Day Jersey Auction. First pitch on Saturday is at 7:05 pm, with the Father’s Day matinee beginning at 2:05. Tickets can be purchased through the Prospects online ticketing service.

FC Edmonton Look to Rebound Against York 9

Last Wednesday, the Eddies suffered an unfortunate 3-1 defeat to the York 9 in the first half of the Canadian Championship Qualifying Round. However, the Eddies have a chance to rebound on Wednesday as the second of their two-game series takes place in Edmonton. Game time is 7:30 pm. Following the match, the Eddies will need to shift their focus back to the Canadian Premier League. The Eddies will take on their Calgary counterparts, Calvary FC, this Saturday. With the Spring Season Title beginning to look beyond reach, the Eddies need to start focusing on creating momentum going into the Fall Season. Match time from Clarke Stadium against Cavalry FC is 12:30 pm.

Oil City Roller Derby Tripleheader

Oil City Roller Derby has a HUGE triple header coming up this Saturday. First, it’s the Oil City Derby Girls in action as they face off against the Kill Billies for Fort St John. Stick around for some house team action as they have a mixed gender showdown between the Near Death Stars and the Space Oddities. Finally, the Kill Billies take the track again, this time against E-Ville Roller Derby’s Berzerkhers. The first whistle for this jam-packed night of action from the Edmonton Sportsdome in South Edmonton is at 4:30 pm.  For more information, check out ocrd.ca.
