EDMONTON, AB – Real Canadian Wrestling Management has informed Mike Malowany of Win Column Sports that ECW/WCW/WWE Star Shane Douglas will not be attending their shows January 18 in Calgary and January 19 in Edmonton.

However, in Douglas’ place, RCW has come up with a more than adequate replacement.  Former ECCW and Shimmer Champion and 2018 Mae Young Classic participant Nicole Matthews will be joining RCW this January.

Currently #57 in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Top 100 Females, Matthews is one of the most respected wrestlers in the world today.  Commonly known as the “Shimmertaker” for her locker room leadership, Matthews has racked up wins against NXT: UK competitor Isla Dawn, as well as names such as Kris Wolf, Kay Lee Ray, and former Alberta wrestler Rachael Ellering.  She is coming to Alberta to test the women of RCW and see if they can hang with one of the world’s best.

Tickets for the January 18 show, from Calgary’s Legion #1, and January 19, from St. Johns Cultural Centre in Edmonton, are available from www.myshowpass.com.  Backbreaker Media will be in attendance at the Edmonton show to call the action, and both shows will be available on the Backbreaker Media Video on Demand Service, as well as Powerslam TV, in the weeks to come.  Make sure you are a part of this weekend of great wrestling action.
