Albertan wrestling is back, baby!

The Albertan wrestling scene was back in full swing last weekend with a trio of events hosted across the province. As we’ve come to expect, a series of major match announcements took place, while Force Pro Wrestling confirmed their first event of the new decade. Yet again, a Hart claimed an Albertan wrestling championship, and “the Cheetahbear” is on the move after recently leaving his former promotion.

Not caught up on all the action? Now you can be! It’s the latest edition of Last Week in Alberta Wrestling, your source for the most up-to-date information across the Albertan wrestling scene!

Force Pro Wrestling Announces Next Show, Matches

Force Pro Wrestling fans won’t have to wait long for the follow up to The Prelude.

Last Thursday, the promotion announced that they’ll be back in action on January 17th with their first event of 2020, the Return. It’s the promotion’s first event since November’s 18+ show Just the Tip, which saw Michael Richard Blais defeat Kayla Jaye in the evening’s main event.

Speaking of Jaye, yesterday the promotion announced the first match for the Return that will see “the Golden Child” face off with PWA Heavyweight Champion Michael Allen Richard Clark. Additional matches are expected to be announced as soon as Wednesday.

Tickets for Force Pro Wrestling: The Return are currently available through any of the Force Pro Wrestling star or staff member. Additional tickets will be available on Diyobo in the near future.

Cheetahbear Scheduled for ASW Debut

The Cheetahbear is headed west.

Last week, All Star Wrestling announced that “The Cheetahbear” Jude Dawkins will be debuting for the promotion as part of their January 25th “Indian Invasion” event.

“I’m here to make the ring my hunting ground, and All Star Wrestling has caught my eye. They have some talent there that would surely put up the good fight. They best be ready for me, lest they be fed to the Bear.”

“Time to die, Vancouver.”

Thus far, there’s been no confirmation on Dawkins’ opponent.

Tickets for All Star Wrestling: Indian Invasion are available through any of the promotion’s social media channels, or by contacting 604-710-0872.

Matt Hart Captures RCW Commonwealth Championship

It’s a sentence that’s damn familiar to any long-time Albertan wrestling fans: a Hart has claimed yet another championship.

At Saturday night’s RCW New Year’s Unleashed event in Edmonton, Matt Hart defeated “The Viking Lord” Vince Austin in a Lumberjack Match for the RCW British Commonwealth Championship.

The loss end’s Austin’s title reign at 245 days, and kicks off Hart’s first run with a singles championship in RCW. Previously, Hart and his partner D. Dwight Davis had captured the RCW Tag Team Championships, holding the titles from December 2017 to May 2018.

Nixon vs. Blais Announced for Jan 24

Once again, Radway will play host to one of the most anticipated matchups on the Albertan independent scene.

On Saturday, January 24, Michael Richard Blais will meet with one of Canada’s most despised villains, “Nasty” Nate Nixon. The matchup marks the first time the two have faced off inside the squared circle.

Tickets for the January 24th New Year’s Rampage event in Radway are available through RCW’s social media channels or on the promotion’s Showpass page.
