The Edmonton Collegiate Trappers (ECBC) played their inaugural home games this past weekend hosting Thompson Rivers University. Saturday was not kind to the home team but Sunday was filled with hope, growth and a win!
In the first Sunday game, your ECBC battled back from a 4-0 deficit to take a short-lived 5-4 lead. Your ECBC again played the role of comeback kids in the second game of the Sunday double dip, overcoming a 3-0 deficit to take a 4-3 lead. In the bottom of the 9th, the cardiac kids tied the game at 5 and in the bottom of the 10th would walk off with a victory.
The win improves the record of the first year Club to 2W – 8L. The University of Calgary is closest in the standings with a 2W – 10L record. The next opponent for your Collegiate Trappers is the Prairie Baseball Academy on Wednesday, April 17th in Lethbridge for a double dip. Then the PBA comes to RE/MAX Field for doubleheaders on Saturday, April 20th and Sunday, April 21st. The Lethbridge boys have a record 5W – 7L.
