EDMONTON, AB: No companies. No storylines. No restrictions. Just wrestling.
On October 27th, a mysterious account known as the Clandestine Society appeared on social media, sending out a series of short vignettes that set the Western Canadian wrestling scene abuzz. While many speculated as to what the various posts were referring to, no one was quite sure what to make of them.
On Wednesday, we finally got some answers.
With a final vignette earlier today, the Clandestine Society announced that on December 14th, Michael Richard Blais, Brandon Van Danielson and Artemis Spencer will face off in a dream triple threat, pitting three of Western Canada’s finest wrestlers against each other in the squared circle for the first time ever.
Of course, the history between Blais and Van Danielson goes without saying. The duo known as the Western Lions have been staples of the Albertan indie wrestling scene for over 15 years, becoming two of the provinces’ most highly-regarded talents in the process.
Spencer, too, is well-known for his work in not only British Columbia, but worldwide. The current ECCW Champion is one of the most well-respected wrestlers in Canada today, putting on highlight-feel matches with the likes of El Phantasmo, Alex Plexis and more through his 16-year career. The fact that the three combatants’ paths have never crossed before is mind-boggling, and even more so considering the circumstances in which they’ll first meet.
It was also announced that the match will take place at an invite-only event. However, there’s been no word on any other matches, or frankly, if any others will even occur.
One thing is for certain, though – don’t miss out if you have the opportunity.
Stay tuned to the WCSN for more from the Clandestine Society.
