EDMONTON, AB: The WCSN is proud to announce that nominations for the 5th annual Backbreaker Media Awards are now open.
On December 15th, a number of personalities from the Albertan independent wrestling scene will reveal their personal favourite wrestlers, shows, and moments from the past year in Alberta on the WCSN’s final podcast of 2019. This year, three prominent voices in Albertan wrestling will join moderator Spencer Love in selecting this year’s winners.
This year’s panel includes:
Discover Progress, an off-the-rails podcast formerly built around coverage of England’s Progress promotion, now expanding into coverage on the Albertan independent scene.
Wrestlesode, a brand-new podcast blending improv and comedy into reviews and stories about both the worldwide and Albertan professional wrestling scene.
The YYC Wrestle Hub, a group dedicated to helping grow the exposure of Alberta wrestling.
In addition to a brand-new selection of panellists, this year’s edition will see nominations open to fan voting for the very first time. Any and all Albertan wrestling fans are encouraged to submit their personal favourites to any of the WCSN’s social media channels for any of the following categories:
Breakout Star of the Year
Show of the Year
“Please Don’t Die Award” - Craziest Spot
Big Future Award
WTF Moment of the Year
Feud of the Year
Female Wrestler of the Year
Male Wrestler of the Year
Match of the Year
The full results of the fan vote will be released following the show. Voting is open from November 16th until December 7th.
